One of the things I liked about @pistachio’s comments was what she said about making tweets and comments personal.  Honestly, one of the things about technology that intimidates me is that it is so big and impersonal.  So many social media sites, so many tools to use–how do you start to understand everything?  With Facebook, you at least know the people you friend.  With twitter, it is common to follow and be followed by people you have never met or talked to.  I think this is one thing that makes me hesitant about posting tweets–some of these people don’t know me, and I don’t know them, so why should they care what I am thinking?  But like @pistachio said, if you make your tweets personal and useful, you’ll get more responses, and it will be like your followers do actually know you–even though you have never met in person.

One more thought:  I really liked twittering in class today, because it lets everyone share their thoughts in real time–just one more thing to make technology a little more personal.
